EVEREST ATTEMPT - Freeport Adventurer and mountain climber David Mellor, 57, smiles on the slopes of Mount Everest during a summit attempt in May, 1999. Due to bad weather and a near-death experience, Mellor was unable to reach the "Top of the World" but his climbing partner, Ang Tsering Sherpa, was able to carry a Bahamian flag and coins to the summit. A SMALL SHRINE - A stuffed toy, flowers and a balloon with the words "I Love You" rest at the site where Bahamian singer Kristin Penn-Davis crashed while driving along Sergeant Major Drive Tuesday June 8th, 1999 in Freeport, Grand Bahama. The 29 year old recording artist who was best known for songs like "Faith, Hope, Love", "Serve God Only", "Just Wanna Be Me" and "Kokomo", died from her injuries sustained in the crash.
