TOXIC SMOKE - A Firefighter prepares to enter the smoke-filled freezer room which caught fire Monday May 3rd 1999 at Solomon's Wholesale Warehouse in Freeport, Grand Bahama. Firefighters fought for an hour in dense, toxic smoke to bring the situation under control which started from a welder's sparks igniting the interior of the room. BOAT FIRE - Canadians Alex and Lena Hughes, experienced an engine room fire on board their 46' Sea Ranger 8 miles off the west coast of Grand Bahama Thursday May 6th, 1999. The Hughes are pictured at Bradford Marine, Freeport Harbor. Bahamas Air Sea Rescue and Sea Tow responded to the emergency call and brought the vessel safely into port. The extraordinary sight caused people to stand up from their lunch tables at the popular Pub at Port Lucaya restaurant and photograph the helicopter as momento of their visit to Grand Bahama.
